It’s not just food that is indulgent at Christmas, drinks can also be very high in sugar, artificial sweeteners, calories and sometimes even unhealthy fats!

Here are some healthier cocktail recipes so you can drink smart this Christmas!

Daiquiri

  • 1 handful berries
  • 1 handful ice
  • 1 shot rum
  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend on low.
  2. You want the consistency to be slushy!
  3. Enjoy!

Gin & Tonic

  • 1 shot gin
  • 1/2 lime cut into slices
  • Fever Tree light tonic (sweetened with fructose…which isn’t the best, but a lot better than refined sugar or artificial sweeteners)
  • 3 cubes ice
  1. Place all the ingredients into a glass and squeeze in the lime juice.
  2. Enjoy!

Mojito

  • 1 handful crushed ice
  • 1 lime cut into slices
  • Small handful mint leaves
  • 1 shot rum
  • Optional - 2 tsp xylitol
  • Soda water
  1. Muddle the mint, limes and xylitol (if using) together in a glass (use the end of a rolling pin if you don’t have proper cocktail making equipment!)
  2. Add the crushed ice to the glass, then the rum and enough soda water to cover the ice (or more if you want it to be weaker).
  3. Mix with a long spoon.
  4. Enjoy!

Coconut & Blueberry Vodka Crush

  • 1 handful crushed ice
  • 1 shot vodka
  • 200ml coconut water
  • 1 small handful blueberries
  1. Place the blueberries and vodka into a glass and crush the blueberries so they are broken (but not completely!).
  2. Add the ice and coconut water.
  3. Mix with a long spoon.
  4. Enjoy!

Pina Colada

  • 200ml coconut water
  • 200ml unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1 shot coconut liqueur
  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • 2 handfuls crushed ice
  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth
  2. Enjoy!
